Renewing Hope,
Strengthening Our Future.
In 2001, Fort Thompson community members formed and incorporated Diamond Willow Ministries as a Christian 501c3 non-profit organization with a vision of empowering and strengthening the youth and families of the Hunkpati Oyate - the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe. In 2014, community leaders asked Diamond Willow to consider providing daily youth programming. In response, Diamond Willow formed the Tokata Youth Center to renew hope and strengthen our tokata (future) in 2015.
The Tokata Youth Center assists the youth of the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe in overcoming daily obstacles, so they can become the next generation of men and women who lead our community towards a better and brighter future.
EXCITING NEWS!
In September 2022 we opened this newly built facility located in the center of Fort Thompson. The facility was built in order to serve more youth. There are currently over 460 children enrolled in daily programming. We are continuing to raise funds for this building and to offset ongoing programming costs.
Join the TOKATA INITIATIVE. More information on how you can be a part of the excitement can be found on our capital campaign website.
